Annabel Gardens: A Pioneering Senior Affordable Housing Initiative Celebrates Its Opening in Willow Grove

The Jewish Federation’s newly opened senior housing community, Annabel Gardens, located in Willow Grove and named after Annabel F. Lindy, has been recognized as one of the “Best Real Estate Deals of 2022” in Senior Affordable Housing by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The project, a collaboration with Federation Housing, Inc. (FHI), features 54 one-bedroom apartments for seniors aged 62 years and older.

Construction on Annabel Gardens began on November 16, 2022, and it was completed in the fall of 2023. The development provides much-needed affordable housing communities and services for low and moderate-income seniors, enabling them to live independently and enhance their quality of life.

Annabel Gardens is a key initiative of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s efforts to support vulnerable populations, including aging adults in our community. The project was largely funded through a generous donation from the children of Annabel Flesher Lindy, who had a longstanding commitment to the local Jewish community and served on the Board of the Jewish Federation and the Board of Federation Housing for many years.
